Kelly Sayers, LCSW
At a young age I knew that I wanted to be a therapist. Being a listener and helping others have always been my strong points at which I excel. Working with others is my passion and most people find me easy to talk and open up to. My office is a place to be yourself; a place to talk about anything that comes to you. We will proceed at your pace so that you feel safe to discuss day-to-day frustrations to deep feelings and insecurities. Each of my clients receives an individualized treatment approach that is developed through collaboration between us both. My approach is flexible to fit your needs at the current time so that therapy will evolve to best serve you.
Experience
I hold my Bachelors in Psychology from Millersville University and my Masters of Social Work from Monmouth University. I have over 12 years of counseling experience where I have had an opportunity to gain a wide variety of experiences with diverse populations. I have worked with individuals and families struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance abuse, trauma, abuse, and relationship/family struggles to name a few. I opened Kelly Sayers Counseling Services in 2018 and in 2020 started By the Beach Counseling where I have hired other therapists to be able to help more people.
Jessica Packard, MSW,
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Throughout my life, I’ve found myself drawn to helping professions – my life experiences have led me towards positions where I have connected people with resources, advocated for others, and provided mentorship. When it came time to move into the next phase of my career, social work checked so many of those boxes.
Most of my professional experience has been at a non-profit, where I worked with clients dealing with a wide variety of difficulties, including anxiety and depression, trauma, substance use, and grief. My passion, though, is working with clients who are experiencing grief and bereavement – whether the cause is a death, life transition, crisis, or a previous difficult experiences. I use a trauma-informed approach to join with clients as they identify and work towards their goals. My therapeutic style is personable, empathic, and collaborative.
I earned a Bachelors degree from University of Washington and a Masters of Social Work from Simmons University; I’m currently accruing hours towards becoming licensed as a clinical social worker.
